Military Superannuation Review
In February 2007, the Government announced an independent review of military superannuation arrangements. The findings of this review were released late December 2007 on the Department of Defence website at www.defence.gov.au/militarysuperreview.
The aim of the review was to assess the suitability of the existing arrangements in light of changes in the wider superannuation environment and the changing demographics of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The review was conducted by an independent Review Team with support from civilian and military personnel in the Department of Defence and involved consultation with key stakeholders.
Interested parties may submit comments on the report and its recommendations, having first considered the original Terms of Reference for the Review and the Review Team’s guiding principles. Comments can be submitted through the aforementioned website, with the consultation period ending 31 March 2008.
