Same Sex legislation passed

The MSB Rules have been amended in line with changes to other Commonwealth Laws removing discrimination against same-sex couples and their children... The changes to the MSB Rules are effective from 1 January 2009 and allow eligible same-sex partners to receive death benefits upon the death of their partner. Eligible children of same-sex couples will also have access to this benefit.

Members in same-sex relationships do not need to register their relationships with us as eligibility will be determined at the time of death.
